Microelectronics
What is the role of the Microelectronics Laboratory?
The Microelectronics Laboratory acts as a central service provider. Among other things, it provides office computers (Intel NUCs) and the latest software tools for the entire department.
Assignments in the teaching of the events ‘Microelectronics’, ‘Design of Complex Digital Circuits’ and ‘Project Placement’:
Using state-of-the-art software, analogue and digital circuits can be designed and verified through simulation. The data required for the various implementations is generated using appropriate software tools. FPGAs (Field-Programmable Gate Arrays) from various manufacturers can be programmed, and standard-cell and fully custom ICs can be manufactured by various semiconductor companies.
The laboratory is used in other lecture modules and their associated internships, such as ‘Mathematics 3 / Numerical Mathematics’, ‘Energy Storage’ and ‘Advanced Programming Practice’. The relevant software is available.
