Green Lothstraße Campus
Since 2023, sustainability has been established as a cross-cutting theme in university development at Hochschule München. Following the successful completion of the ÖKOPROFIT environmental management programme at theGreen Campus Pasing, the initiative is now being extended to the Lothstraße Campus – with the involvement of several faculties and departments.
About ÖKOPROFIT
ÖKOPROFIT stands for ‘Ecological Project for Integrated Environmental Technology’. The programme supports businesses and public institutions, such as universities, in combining resource efficiency, climate protection and economic viability. The focus is on specific measures to save energy, reduce waste and emissions, and optimise processes in a sustainable manner.
History & Contributors
ÖKOPROFIT at Hochschule München dates back to 2003: the programme was first introduced at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology that year.
In 2023, it was launched at the Green Campus Pasing as a pilot project for the entire site. Following its successful completion in Pasing, ÖKOPROFIT is now also being continued at the Lothstraße Campus, where it is being implemented as part of an inter-faculty partnership with the involvement of the following institutions:
Department of Mechanical, Automotive and Aeronautical Engineering (Dept 03)
Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (Dept 04)
Department of Computer Science and Mathematics (Dept 07)
ÖKOPROFIT – Project period
The project will run for a period of 15 months – from September 2025 to November 2026. Through workshops and one-to-one consultancy sessions, potential savings will be identified, measures to conserve resources will be developed and sustainability processes will be initiated. The aim is to work together to achieve measurable progress in environmental management and to be awarded the ÖKOPROFIT certification at the end of the project period.
