Software procurement via the department
Some companies offer students and university staff particularly favourable terms for their software packages.
The Leibniz Computing Centre and the Information Technology Services Department at Hochschule München are constantly endeavouring to establish partnerships, subscriptions or framework agreements in order to provide software packages relevant to research and teaching at reduced cost or free of charge.
For example, the Leibniz Computing Centre offers Sophos Antivirus, a VPN client, Maple and MindManager, whilst the iGrafx® and MATLAB packages (for students only) are available through Munich University of Applied Sciences’ Information Technology Services department. (see also ‘OTHER SOURCES’ on the right)
In addition to the Leibniz Computing Centre and Hochschule München’s Information Technology Services Department, the department also participates in a number of partnerships with external companies to provide students (and faculty members) with access to software at a reduced cost or free of charge.
These are software packages that are also used in courses within the degree programmes of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
Access to the following sources is restricted to all members (e.g. lecturers and staff members) and students of Department 04.
Please note the information (in particular the terms of use) for each individual programme.
