Corporate Speed Dating 2022
On 27 April 2022, following a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the departmental student representation 04’s successful “Company Speed Dating” event finally took place for the fifth time in the foyer of Hochschule München. Throughout the day, students and company representatives were able to network in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.
As our events had to take place online last year, everyone involved was once again delighted to have an in-person event. Following consistently positive feedback, the departmental student representation has once again this year adopted a similar successful format to previous years. Interested students from every department looking for an internship, a part-time student job or a topic for a bachelor's degree or Master's thesis were able to register individually or in groups via the departmental student representation’s portal. In the familiar ‘speed-dating’ style, the students rotated in cycles between the stands set up by the participating companies. This year, each ‘date’ lasted 6 minutes and was signalled to an end by a clearly audible gong. A presenter from departmental student representation 04 guided the proceedings, whilst the departmental student representation ensured that the time limits were adhered to.
After each meeting, interested students could pop their business card into the contact box, thereby giving the company a way to get in touch with them.
During the two longer breaks at the end of each round of networking, the students were then able to continue conversations they had already started with company representatives
Participating companies:
- München Public Utilities
- Texas Instruments
- Softing
- Infineon
- Allgeier Engineering
- ARRK Engineering
- Crown
- ARRI
- Mixed Mode
- WORK Microwave
- ALLDAQ
Judging by the feedback and the general atmosphere, it was clear that everyone involved was delighted to have the opportunity to get to know one another in person. Overall, the corporate speed-dating event proved once again to be a real success for both sides – students and companies alike.
Special thanks, of course, go to the company representatives who took part, but also, naturally, to the hard-working student representatives from Department 04, without whose weeks of dedication this event would not have been possible.
